I remember my first Sydney Mardi Gras it was 1999 – and I sat on the steps of the Sydney Opera House with a picnic and champagne. The evening was one of many highlight in an action packed wet but warm fortnight full of outdoor artistic and entertainment events, combined with amazingly well-produced visually extravagant themed dance parties. I bought Champagne Mumm in duty free on my way over from London and I clearly remember that the Vintage Cellars outlet on Oxford St was selling bottles of Champagne Piper Heidieck in Jean Paul Gautier designed red and black corsets…
Fast forward to #IWD2011 and here’s my champagne pink party outfit, which doubles up for both Mardi Gras this weekend and International Women’s Day Centenary Celebration next week. Find out all you need to know about these champagne by clicking on the links below.
Have fun out there Mardi Gras goers, play safe and hope to see you over a bubbling glass of rose champagne somewhere in Sydney soon.
