ABOUT THE AUTHOR: Known as ‘Champagne Jayne’, Jayne Powell is a respected Australian independent reviewer and expert in champagne and sparkling wines. An award-winning author, Jayne holds a BA honours degree with distinction in French language, the globally recognised WSET Intermediate and Advanced Certificates in wines and spirits, and has studied champagne at the Institut International des Vins de Champagne in the heart of Champagne itself. In 2012 she won the International Champagne Educator of the Year Award at The Champagne Summit.
Considered a friend to family members of the top champagne houses in France and a great ambassador for champagne internationally, Champagne Jayne enjoys her career in writing and speaking, and facilitating nights of champagne “edu-tainment” around the globe.
Her signature Pop Up Champagne Master Classes – have run in collaboration with the cream of local culinary talent, including award winners Mark Best(Marque), Shannon Bennett (Vue de Monde),Tony Bilson(Bilsons) and Christine Mansfield(Universal), but her palette remains a ‘free agent’ unrestricted by any brand allegiance.
