Award Winning Champagne Educator and Author and Champagne Dame
Awarded Champagne Dame (Dame Chevalier) status by the champagne industry, in recognition of her global efforts as a journalist to democratise prestige, and nicknamed ‘The Champagne Socialist’ by Financial Times, since emigrating from London to Sydney and launching her independent ‘sparkling edu-tainment’ consultancy in 2003, award-wining champagne educator and author Jayne Powell (aka Champagne Jayne), has become one of the media’s go-to experts for authoritative and engaging opinions on the complex yet divine subject that is champagne, with regular appearances on mainstream TV, radio and in the press.
A fluent speaker in French, Champagne Jayne was awarded International Champagne Educator of the Year 2012 at The Champagne Summit in London by Harpers Magazine. Jayne was also awarded the 2011 Best French Wine Book (Australia) at the Gourmand World Wine Book Awards in Paris for her book ‘Champagnes – Behind The Bubbles’.
